Various company heads in the field of Animation, VFX, gaming & Film line were invited to grace the event. Companies including Chicmic, Xeemu Studios, White Hill Productions, Karma Productions, Andy TV, just to name a few. There was various academic institutions were also available including VidyaJyoti, Arena, and the Shelters etc. Representatives of various state skill mission and NSDC were also a part of the event.
To focus on North region of India, during SANKALP; the AVGC industry got together to take a pledge of taking industry from north region to another level. Mr. Mohit Soni enthusiastically said “Now a days North India is considered as a top resource pool destination for leading animation & VFX studios not just in India & but globally. Now is the time to build North India to be the biggest center for developing content & consider IP creation. In addition, North India is a great destination for film shootings, so; building training and production infrastructure will bring huge value returns for the region & will surely generate tremendous employment & entrepreneurship opportunities; consequently creating a benchmark for other regions to follow. Let’s all of us take “Sankalp” of doing the best possible to uplift the training & production facilities in our region and make it a global destination; not just for hiring but also developing the international quality content.”
“During the panel discussion on Films & VFX. Ms. Madhu Chitkara, Vice Chancellor at Chitkara University added, “Chitkara University is committed to supporting the local media and entertainment industry at every level, right from providing the right manpower, to handholding them through incubation and start-ups by creating complete ecosystems around them.”
Mr. Vineet Raj Kapoor, Dean, Chitkara University, has a vision for the industry studios to be guided to be able to leverage their IPs at an international level. He has more than 2 decades of experience in this field and has been instrumental in guiding and motivating them to participate internationally as the leader of Indian Delegation of Animation, Game and Film Studios. He said, “The Industry needs to participate in the training of the students so that they get a chance to prepare the exact artist they need. The Industry also needs to come together and partner like the Industry in the South where they have got the government to provide enough concessions to help the industry take risks.”
The industry responded well to the event & turned out in great numbers. They participated with great enthusiasm in the panel discussions
An aura of the success of the event was created and all the panellists and participants cherished the Summit. In future Media & Entertainment skills council has a plan to organize such summits in various parts of the country and expand the summit along with job fairs & industry oriented workshops for upskilling the existing resources and providing opportunities for employment & entrepreneurship
